East Village Opening Day Tasting Event
Tickets come to $44.06 after fees, and you get 10 tastings from awesome East Village restaurants and bars per ticket. Please pick up punch cards at Tavern+Bowl starting at 11:00 AM – the event goes until 4pm.
The Blind Burro
Dubbed the Casa-Tatis, the cocktail combines Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Grand Marnier, Passion Fruit Puree, Orange Juice, and Lime Juice with a Sea Salt and Chili rim. Named for Padres’ player Fernando Tatis, the drink features an orange peel garnish branded with Tatis’ number, 23. The 16oz drink will be available throughout the baseball season and costs $23.
City Tacos
City Tacos newest Ballpark taqueria location will make its debut just in time for Opening Day. The beloved taqueria will kick off the season as one of the participants in this year’s Taste of East Village event on April 1st, with tasty favorites such as the Mexicali Taco, which features grilled Arrachera steak, onions, poblano peppers, mashed potatoes and melted asadero cheese in a fresh flour tortilla. The City Tacos Ballpark taqueria will be open one hour before and after every home game this season, so make sure to show your Padres pride and indulge in signature taco selections!
Corner Chicken
Add a little bit of spice to your Opening Day with a must-try special from Corner Chicken. The East Village eatery will offer a Padres Game Day Special featuring a buy one combo, get one free deal, with the purchase of a $5 AleSmith .394 Pale Ale. Choose your desired spice level, select your combo, and savor signature flavors such as the Sando served with kale slaw, pickles, and comeback sauce. Enjoy your grub on the outdoor patio or indoors with limited indoor seating.
The Smoking Gun
Catch every second of the action when you visit The Smoking Gun! The downtown destination is fully equipped with multiple TV’s, hearty bites, and plenty of beer for the ultimate Opening Day. Make sure to stop in during the season for happy hour, available Monday through Friday from 3PM-7PM and featuring $5 select draft beers, and savory snacks like wings, cheeseburgers, and more. The Smoking Gun is currently open for outdoor dining and limited indoor dining.
AleSmith Brewing Company
AleSmith Brewing Company is knocking it out of the park this baseball season with a revamped Tasting Room that has been updated with a slew of TVs just in time for Opening Day! Cheer on the Padres and enjoy $5 pints of Hazy .394 during every game in their Mezzanine, where social distancing and COVID safety practices will be enforced to ensure everyone has a healthy and enjoyable season of America’s Favorite Pastime. Their coveted, seasonal brew, Hazy .394, has been expertly honed by the AleSmith team to encompass everything beer-drinkers love about a San Diego-style pale ale. This rendition is the hazy cousin to their original .394 – a collaboration with Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn that first launched in 2014 and has since won the hearts of craft beer lovers in both Padre territory and nationwide.
