Point Loma’s Cesarina Ristorante celebrates the power of womanhood at the core of its philosophy. Born and raised in Rome, co-founder Cesarina Mezzoni is a self-taught chef with Seychellean and Italian roots. In a leap of faith, Cesarina emigrated from Rome to California in 2015, alongside her husband Niccolò Angius.
Their flagship concept, Cesarina Ristorante, honors the Italian matriarchy and serves to create a convivial atmosphere that nurtures its community as only a mother would.

On International Women’s Day, Cesarina will be doling out mimosa flowers, an emblematic blossom of Italy’s Festa della Donna, which are said to symbolize strength, sensibility and sensitivity. For dine-in guests, Chef Cesarina will also be serving up a complimentary “Torta di Mimosa” dessert, a fluffy vanilla gateau imbued with lemon and strawberry flavors.
See you there….and stay healthy, San Diego!
