Support our Military Community at the SD Loyal SC Soccer Match
San Diego Loyal SC (SD Loyal) soccer club, and supporting partner Compass Real Estate, announced the launch of its newest initiative, Mission Gratitude.
The new initiative provides support and opportunities for a sense of community and camaraderie for active duty, veteran and retired military members and their families all season long.
The program kicks off on July 3 at Torero Stadium when SD Loyal takes on rival Sacramento Republic FC which will be nationally televised on ESPN2. The first 3,000 fans that arrive at the stadium will receive SD Loyal branded military dog tags, all active military and veteran service members will receive tickets at a 50 percent discount and a halftime ceremony will be dedicated to swearing in new Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force recruits.
Meet Olympians and Paralympians (and get great BBQ!)
Nothing feels more patriotic than supporting our Olympic athletes! Ahead of the Tokyo Summer Olympics, Smokin J’s BBQ will host ‘Meet Team USA’ to spotlight San Diego-based US Paralympians and Olympians on Friday, July 2nd from 5-7PM.
Local Olympians and Paralympians, such as Smokin J’s co-owner and four-time Paralympian, Joshua George, four-time Paralympian, Lex Gillette, new coming Paralympian, Beatriz Hatz, among others will be in attendance. Members from the US Olympic and Paralympic Track and Field team, Paralympic Tennis team, men’s Olympic Rugby team, and more will also be present.

Take a Quick Road Trip to Julian for the Parade
For more than twenty years, Julian residents, their friends and parade lovers from all over have lined up at on the town’s main street to wave their flags, cheer the marching bands, salute the Marine Color Guard, and carry a giant American Flag down the thoroughfare.

…While Eating BBQ on the Bayview Terrace of the InterContinental
For a more casual Big Bay Boom viewing experience, the InterContinental will also be hosting an all-you-can-eat barbeque feast on their Bayview Terrace, which also allows for prime viewing of the Big Bay Boom. The event, which runs from 5PM to 9:30PM, is family friendly, with tickets for children 11 and under available for $65, and adult tickets available for $95.
Tickets include a table reservation, all-you-can eat barbecue buffet, traditional sides and desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a live music from soul artist, Rebecca Jade, from 6PM to 9PM.
