Apt 4 Music Grand Opening & Open House
Apt 4 Music, a music instructional and production organization, will be celebrating their official public launch and open house of their new location in the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station on September 3 from 4PM – 9PM. Stop by and enjoy music, food & beverages, raffles and more! Apt 4 Music is focused on providing individuals, families, organizations, and educators from all walks access to the musical arts and education, as well as community outreach and support programs, event productions, and more!
La Galleria Opens First Southern California Location
Shop for personal adornments, jewelry, home décor, and hand-carved sculptures from around the world no passport required. ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station welcomes its newest tenant, boutique retail store, La Galleria. With locations in Reno and Truckee, La Galleria has established itself as the premier destination for artfully crafted gifts, decor, jewelry, custom water features, and floral designs from around the world. This will serve as the boutique’s first location in Southern California and part of their continued mission to support local businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and community events.
San Diego Watercolor Society’s September Exhibit
San Diego Watercolor Society is beginning the month with a brand-new exhibit titled Beyond Rules, September 3-25, available exclusively in person for their members. The gallery is also offering a variety of in-person workshops throughout the month for all skill levels including a class teaching you a watercolor sketching method that captures sunlight and shadow on September 19, and learn to paint with confidence by eliminating unnecessary details on September 23.
School is back in session
As the new school year begins, businesses at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station are finding ways to keep the learning fun for all ages.
Anne Gaffey Art: Sign up for a mixed media workshop by Anne Gaffey Art on September 18 and learn techniques to use and apply collage, paint, pastels, pencils, charcoal, cards, words, poems, keepsakes, and stencils.
Hakkai Aquascape Design Gallery. Get your hands wet and learn how to make a classic nature aquarium with
Hakkai Aquascape Design Gallery on September 4, a ‘Jungle Tank’ aquascape on September 5, a pond tank aquascape on September 18, or stop in and design your own custom creation with the help of their instructors.
Milk Oolong is hosting a series of pottery wheel classes for kids, teens, and adults looking to embrace their creativity and learn a new skill. Sign up for their Surface Decoration Workshop on September 3, a 5-week Wheel Throwing Class beginning September 14, a Nesting Bowls Workshop on September 25, or grab an at-home kit to let your creativity run wild.
San Diego Craft Collective is offering a variety of outdoor workshops for all ages. Build a woven stool, sew your own pair of flannel PJ pants, create a succulent dream catcher, and more all month long.
Songbirds Music. Shake, rattle and roll during one of Songbirds Music’s virtual and in-person outdoor classes taking place September 13-November 20. ChIMES, San Diego Youth Symphony’s music and education program, is holding a “Fall Fun on the Farm” session beginning September 13. During this 8-week session, children up to five years old will sing, play, and “moooove” to the music and explore farm animals, tractors and wagons, and the fall harvest.
